Is there an alternative to unifi that is Podman or Docker compatible/available and better than the old site manager?

I use this and didn’t even know there’s something new out there — so thanks for the heads up.

Same, been using this one a few years with no issues.

Yeah. That’s what I’m using too.

No, also the unifi controller using docker/podman is coming to a end. As they are moving to “unifi OS” unfortunately. So you need to run a full blown VM to use it in the future…

Do they plan on moving Unifi OS beyond just network? Because we run Access, Protect, Connect and InnerSpace, too… Would be nice to have a PC setup as a controller for the cost of their Dream Machine Pro Max etc.

Yeah, this is what led me to convert my APs to openwrt

dai@lemmy.world on 19 Jun 18:40 collapse

I only have one UBI AP that was swiftly flashed to openwrt watching the shitshow unfold during CV19. I stepped up to a product manager role for a computer component store, took on lots of brands UBI included.

I didn’t get the hype behind UBI but they sold well and kept my KPIs on track, but working with / being an enthusiast I guess gave me a different perspective from old Joe down the road.

They are set-and-forget, and no network engineers like tuning WiFi. I think the value is in not having to touch it.

Does this image not work anymore?

I can confirm that it works and is being updated regularly. It just shows this nasty nag screen to downgrade to the “server” stuff.

I just noticed it today logging in from a phone.

I know what kind of man you are

Have I not seen this because I’m using a fixed tag from sometime in 2024?

This reminds me it’s probably a good idea to setup a local container registry along with the services I run so I can keep access to the images long-term.

What is that tag you are using?
