Is this easy to self host?

nis@feddit.dk on 23 Sep 04:36 collapse

You need a Kubernetes cluster, so probably not.

Damn.

AbidanYre@lemmy.world on 23 Sep 05:11 collapse

Based on what he posted it’s basically a collection of other tools (jitsi, Nextcloud, open project, etc). Use whichever ones of them you need in docker.

The feature is opendesk is everything being glued together with Nubus. Otherwise it’s indeed just a big bag of components.

warmaster@lemmy.world on 23 Sep 08:40 collapse

That glue is the whole value of OD. I wish there was a Docker compose version for home servers.

mtoboggan@feddit.org on 23 Sep 06:05 next collapse

I wonder why it‘s not done as a Docker stack as well as an alternative. Maybe not for bigger instances but it would be so much easier to self-host for smaller teams.

You can probably run it on k3s instead, but I don’t think the juice will be worth the squeeze.

fruitycoder@sh.itjust.works on 24 Sep 16:13 collapse

K3s, RKE2 and Harvester are all really easy to do at home. Harvester is its own os so its more for if you have a homelab but i have rke2 running on every pc in my house including the pies.

illusionist@lemmy.zip on 23 Sep 08:22 next collapse

Why does it include jitsi when element is also included?

WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world on 23 Sep 11:22 collapse

I think I’ll look into the separate components of this. I’ve been trying to figure out which project management software I want to host for both my house and my business. I’m trying to keep track of time, expenses, deadlines etc for the business and similar but more schedule oriented stuff for the home. One portal would be cool but not necessary really. Only 5 users or so. I’ve never worked anywhere with “project management” so maybe I need something else. That’s the fun though. Trying stuff out!
